Nested Artboards are now Components
Nested Artboards are now Components. Components let you decide what’s reusable and exported at runtime.
To reuse and export an artboard, you need to flag it as a Component. Components are purple. Regular artboards stay blue.
When you open older files, all artboards are auto-converted to Components so nothing breaks at runtime. That means everything will still export. You can unmark any artboards you don’t need, so they’re left out of your final export. In new files, only flagged Components will export. Copies of Components in your file are called Instances. You’ll recognize them by their icons.
Tweet_vid_03.mp4Components give you tighter control over what gets exported, keep big files from turning into a junk drawer, and set the stage for what’s next: Libraries. 👀
